Als Auftakt hat Autobild seinen jährlichen 52-Reifen-Shootout veröffentlicht, bei dem die Nass- und Trockenbremseigenschaften praktisch aller Reifen getestet werden, die sie in die Finger bekommen können. Ziel ist es, die 20 besten Reifen für den vollständigen Reifentest auszuwählen, dieses Jahr in der sportlichen Größe 225/40 R18.
Auf Trockenem gibt es keine großen Überraschungen – der Bridgestone Potenza Sport ist der Beste, dicht gefolgt vom Falken ZE320 und dem Michelin Pilot Sport 5.
Bei Nässe ist es etwas interessanter, hier gibt es drei Gleichstände beim kürzesten Bremsweg! Der neue Hankook Ventus Evo ist einer der besten, beeindruckend vom neuen Produkt, und auch der Kumho Ecsta PS71 schlägt sich gut, aber der dritte Reifen war der Linglong Sport Master, vor Bridgestone, Michelin, Continental und Goodyear! Das ist sehr beeindruckend für den traditionell preisgünstigen chinesischen Hersteller, daher wird es interessant sein zu sehen, wie er sich im Gesamttest schlägt, der auch den Verschleiß einschließt.
